Hi there! This website is still quite WIP!

Don't be surprised if something is a bit broken! It might be fixed soon, might not.

  • The "lore" of our synth form ... Is more akin to a bit of gentle thought/worldbuilding and sweet meandering. But there are some nice ideas and concepts to write down here, for those that are interested, and to serve as an aesthetic guide!

    Core operation

"Lucy" is the name of a frame-only Synth body. This means that, unlike most other Synths, the personality core is not built into the body itself. Instead, it is equipped with certain optical connectors that are used to transmit and receive control and sensor data to the actual personality core via high-bandwidth optical links.

The reason for this is that the personality core(s) that use this frame are built as stand-alone, hover-capable units that can move and change between different frames as needed. If you look at the banner at the top of this page - the three spheres around the head are the actual personality cores! The anthro synth form thusly is just one of the options for frames that they can use.

The ability to swap between frames was added, as this line of frames was meant for deep-space exploration and construction missions, which high-density, compact ships that have little to no interior for a full body to walk around in. Instead, the core(s) can dock the frame to the ship, and swap connection to the ship itself to pilot it.

The reason that there are three personality cores found around Lucy is that they were the first model/prototype of a near-fully optical-based processing core. This allowed higher density, radiation resilience and lower power-requirements - however, the first versions prooved unable to sustain the needed resonances. The Lucidragons triplet was a semi-accidental discovery, in which three separately-tuned cores could stabilize each other's resonances and create a stably running system. As consequence, the three cores share parts of their internal processing, and can not operate properly if separated by too far a distance. This has, luckily, proven helpful during missions, providing resilience against the long transit times.

To facilitate interaction with others even outside of a frame, each core is equipped with some amount of holographic emitters to project at least a virtual body around them. This is also used to add accents, hues and personalisations to the frame in use.
